There are opportunities during the convention for students to volunteer their assistance. Convention committees that need assistance include registration, program, catering, exhibits, and others. Some volunteer positions require more energy than others, and some positions will require more patience than others. The goal of each volunteer should be to help the convention run as smoothly as possible. All volunteers will be greatly appreciated!
REQUIREMENTS
Only full-time students and interns are eligible to apply. ADA student members and non-members will be considered; however, ADA student members will have precedence.
APPLY
Please complete the 2012 ODA Spring Convention Student Volunteer Application Form to be considered for a volunteer position. The information you provide will be used to assure that you are assigned a day and time that will work within your schedule and to maintain communication with you during the convention. Submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be selected as a volunteer.
Volunteers will be scheduled as students apply (i.e. first come, first serve). Once all the positions on the schedule have been filled, any additional applicants will be placed on an Alternate List. If anyone on the schedule decides he or she cannot volunteer, a student on the alternate list will be contacted to serve as a replacement.
NOTIFICATION
All students will be contacted by Tuesday, February 14, 2012 to be informed whether they have been included on the schedule or the Alternate List.
CONVENTION REGISTRATION
Students will volunteer for half of Thursday, March 15th or half of Friday, March 16th and attend the rest of the convention that same day for free. Lunch is NOT included for Student Volunteers.
Submitting an application to volunteer at the convention does not take the place of the 2012 ODA Spring Convention Registration Form.
If you are put on the volunteer schedule, you will need to read the Volunteer Registration Instructions (available soon) before you register for the convention. If you are put on the alternate list, you will need to register for the convention as if you will not be placed on the volunteer schedule. If you are chosen from the Alternate List to be placed on the volunteer schedule as a replacement for someone else, the ODA treasurer will contact you regarding a refund.
